Teaching & Training
The Urban Mission Week is for youth ages 14 through 18–for individuals or for entire youth groups and their staff. It aims to stimulate missions thinking and living among participants. The interactive training will incorporate big-picture perspective, challenges for daily life application, and ministry skills. Ultimately, we desire participants to return home more inspired and better equipped to live as witnesses of Jesus.
Some topics we’ll address in training:
- What is the gospel message?
- What is the meaning of discipleship?
- Living faith through evangelism & service
- Developing love for the Body of Christ
- What is missions? Why should we do it?
- Tools for evangelism and prayer ministry
- Relating to people who are homeless
Service & Outreach
Participants have the opportunity to get to know, serve, and share Jesus with the people of Philadelphia. The outreach days will provide a variety of ministry expressions: practical service, food programs, street evangelism, ministry to children-at-risk, cooperation with churches, and relationship building. This is an opportunity for practical missions experience, seeing a different view of the world we live in, and for changed lives!
